Top Wedding Trends of 2023

Can you even believe that 2023 is halfway over?! We’ve been talking about 2023 trends over on Instagram since the beginning of the year, but we wanted to combine what we’ve been seeing in one blog post! We don’t anticipate these trends to go away any time soon, and predict they will make their way well into 2024. 2023 has been full of traditional elements, infused with modern touches that give weddings a unique twist. 2020 changed the way we do weddings, and we aren’t ever going back!

Here are some of the top wedding trends that we’ve been seeing in 2023 that are sure to make your big day unforgettable.

Intimate Celebrations The pandemic has taught us the value of intimate celebrations. As a result, more couples are opting for small and intimate weddings with close family and friends. These smaller weddings offer more opportunities for personalized touches and can help create a more relaxed atmosphere. Consider a cozy venue, intimate dinner settings, and sentimental touches that reflect your personality and relationship.

Small backyard weddings are a great way to celebrate with your closest friends and family in a relaxed and comfortable setting. And with the advent of hybrid weddings, you can still share your special day with those who can't attend in person. By using a live stream, guests can still feel like they're a part of the wedding even if they can't be there physically. This trend also allows couples to expand their guest list while still maintaining an intimate atmosphere.

Experiences

In addition to the traditional wedding ceremony and reception, couples are looking for ways to add some fun and excitement to their big day. This could include anything from hiring a live band to setting up a photo booth. The goal is to create an experience that your guests will never forget. Setting up yard games such as Jenga and Cornhole can also be a great addition to your wedding day to make sure it is memorable and fun for your guests!

Both Natural Decor and Bright Colors One of the biggest trends we continue to see is natural-themed decor. This trend involves incorporating natural elements such as wood, greenery, and earthy tones into the decor, creating a calming and soothing atmosphere. We’ve been seeing these types of color schemes play out for many years and view this as a classic and timeless option for your wedding day.

On the flip side, bright colors and bold prints are IN and we are here for it! Bahia-themed decor, for example, features bright colors, patterns, and tropical elements like palm trees and exotic flowers.

Combining these two trends can create a unique and beautiful wedding theme that is both relaxing and exciting. Imagine a ceremony surrounded by lush greenery and natural wood accents, with centerpieces and decor highlighting bright and bold floral designs. This trend is perfect for couples who want to bring the beauty and simplicity of nature to their special day while also adding a touch of unique flair.

Sustainability In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards sustainability in wedding décor. This is due to a number of factors, including the increasing awareness of environmental issues, the rising cost of weddings, and the desire of couples to have a more meaningful and personal celebration.

There are many ways to incorporate sustainability into your wedding décor.

Our favorite way: rent your décor instead of buying it. This is a great way to save money and reduce waste. You can rent all of the beautiful items needed to create your vision, at a fraction of the cost of buying it all new. Renting decor reduces waste and allows your items to be reused again and again - talk about eco-friendly!

When you’re choosing the decor items you’ll use on your wedding day, aim for sustainable materials. Materials that are recycled or eco-friendly make for great options on your big day. This could include bamboo, floral, wood, or recycled glass.

The Southwest Florida region is full of talented florists. Locally-sourced flowers will help to reduce the environmental impact of your wedding, as the flowers will not have to be transported long distances.

Lastly, if you do buy items new, try to donate or recycle your décor after the wedding. This will help to ensure that no materials go to waste. Better yet - rent those same items and we will handle them all for you after your event is over!

So there you have it! These are some of the top wedding trends we’ve seen in 2023. Whether you opt for a classic theme, intimate celebration, eco-friendly decor, or any of the other trends mentioned, the most important thing is to make your wedding a reflection of your unique love story. With these trends as inspiration, the most important thing to remember is to make sure your wedding reflects your unique style, story, and personality. Have fun creating a wedding that's as beautiful as it is meaningful.
